Our commitment

We are committed to deepening our partnerships with community support groups, and fine-tuning our environmental practices in every aspect of our global business operations. And we see that the impact we have on our customers and partners will help bring about changes that have the potential to transform our social and natural environments.

Scope of our impact

Xero is a young, fast-growing company, and we’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far. We are early in our journey to formalise our approach to corporate citizenship and believe we have the foundations to make significant contributions to the environment and sustainability. The role we play in society at large is also important, and we intend to align our present and future efforts around social and environmental impact to our purpose. This is to make life better for people in small business, their advisors and communities around the world.

Our focus

We’ve appointed a Social and Environmental Impact Advisor who will steward programs to focus and report on the following areas:

  • Building on established efforts to deliver further environmental and sustainability initiatives which reflect Xero’s purpose, values and strategic direction.

  • In alignment with our purpose, building out programs that will engage and contribute to thriving communities around the world. 

  • Championing diversity and inclusion to cultivate our engaged global workforce.

Recognition

Global investor rating agencies and sustainability rankings have recognized Xero's efforts to positively contribute to environmental sustainability and commitment to ethical operations. Xero has been recognized in FTSE Russell ESG Rating FTSE4Good Index Series and as of 2019, Xero has received an MSCI ESG Rating of A. We have also been rated by RobeccoSAM and ISS-Oekom.
