What fees am I charged?

A set number of bill payments are included in the Xero Grow, Comprehensive, Ultimate and Ultra pricing plan limits per month:

  • Xero Grow: Includes 5 free bill payments per month
  • Xero Comprehensive: Includes 10 free bill payments per month
  • Xero Ultimate: Includes 15 free bill payments per month
  • Xero Ultra: Includes 20 free bill payments per month

If you go over this number, you’ll pay $0.35 for any additional bill payments. Unused included payments do not roll over to the next month. The Xero Ignite plan doesn’t include a set number of bill payments, instead you’ll pay $0.35 per bill payment.

If you’re part of the Xero partner program, your accounting practice org includes 15 free payments per month. If you go over this number, you’ll pay $0.35 per bill payment.

All fees are in AU dollars and include GST.

A bill payment means each individual bill within a payment batch. For example, if you pay 7 bills to a supplier’s bank account, the total payment fee is $2.45 ($0.35 x 7 bills). If you group multiple bills owed to the same supplier into one payment, this counts as one payment.

No payment fees for your first 30 days*

Set up online bill payments, powered by Airwallex, by 31 October 2026 and there will be no payment fees for your first 30 days.

*This offer of no payment fees for online bill payments for the first 30 days is only available to Xero organisations in Australia who participated in the bill payments beta or who have not yet set up online bill payments powered by Airwallex. Offer available until 11:59pm AEDT on 31 October 2026. The 30 day period starts from the date you successfully onboard with online bill payments. After 30 days, regular payment fees will apply. This offer cannot be used with, or exchanged for, any other offer. Xero can change or cancel this offer at any time for organisations who have not yet redeemed it.

When and how will I be charged fees?

You’ll be charged the payment fee at the same time you submit your bill payment in Xero, using the same funding method (e.g., bank account).

Payment fees are processed by Airwallex in accordance with Airwallex’s Connected Account Agreement and Privacy Policy and are in addition to your monthly Xero subscription fee. Payment fees are not eligible for subscription discounts or offers.

Xero’s payments terms apply to your use of online bill payments. Changes to these fees won’t apply retrospectively and, if we make changes, we’ll make every effort to let you know in accordance with our terms of use.

Payment processing

When you use online bill payments in Xero, your payments are processed by Airwallex Pty Ltd (AFSL 487221).
