What is Xero Ultra and who is it for?

Xero Ultra is our new plan, built for Australian businesses whose needs have grown beyond what their current Xero plan can support. It is designed for businesses where the finance function is becoming more demanding — managing more transactions, more people, more entities and more decisions — and where the tools that worked before are starting to feel like a workaround rather than a platform built for where the business is heading.

Ultra is for businesses that want to stay on the platform they already know and trust, while getting the advanced capability, financial intelligence and control they need to keep growing — without the cost, disruption or rigidity of moving to a traditional ERP. If your finance team is spending more time pulling reports together than acting on them, or if month-end reporting tells you what happened but not what to do next, Ultra is built for you.

Ultra builds on everything you already have by adding a set of powerful capabilities designed specifically for growing complexity: Syft Advanced for multi-entity reporting and forecasting; targeted data restore which is a managed, high-priority service to help address specific data errors without rolling back your entire file; fast-track access to a Xero support expert. Nothing about your existing Xero experience changes — Ultra simply adds more on top.

How does Payroll work with the Ultra plan?

The Ultra plan includes payroll for up to 10 employees. If your business has more than 10 employees on payroll, an additional charge of $2 per employee per month will apply, up to a maximum of 200 employees.

What is Syft Advanced and do I need a separate account?

Syft Advanced is a powerful reporting, forecasting and planning platform that connects directly to your Xero data. It works alongside Xero — not within it — so you will receive a Syft login separately after upgrading. Your Ultra plan includes five Syft Advanced plans, one per entity, so you can consolidate financials across up to five of your Xero organisations. If your group is larger, additional plans are available through our Sales team. Once set up, connect your Xero organisations by selecting "Add Entity" and your consolidated view will be ready automatically. Our onboarding team can walk you through the setup.

Targeted Data Restore is a managed, high-priority service to help address specific data errors without rolling back your entire file. Available up to twice per year and covering data up to six months prior, it is there to help keep your business running when it matters most.

What does fast-track support mean in practice?

As an Ultra customer, you get front-of-queue access with a Xero expert. You can also choose to schedule a callback so you can pick a time that suits you.

Can I downgrade from Ultra if it's not the right fit?

Yes. You can change your Xero plan at any time through your billing settings. If you downgrade, you'll lose access to Ultra-specific features like Syft Advanced, targeted data restore and fast-track support.

What happens after I upgrade — what are the next steps?

After upgrading, you'll receive a welcome email with everything you need to get started. This will include your Syft Advanced plan login. You'll receive an invite to book a call with our onboarding team, who will walk you through setting up your new features and help ensure your team is getting the most out of Ultra from day one.
