About Xero’s Customer Referral Program
Our new referral program is hosted by our third-party partner Impact Inc. (Impact). This referral program is currently in beta phase in Australia only. We will be rolling it out in more regions in the coming months.
This referral program allows existing customers the opportunity to earn rewards when they refer someone to Xero. For every every eligible friend, family member, or other referee who uses your unique “Referral Link” to sign up to a Xero Business Edition subscription, you’ll be eligible to receive a monthly commission for up to 12 months. When you join the program, you will receive your Referral Link that you can share with your referees. By signing up using your Referral Link, your referees will receive whatever promotional offer is available in-market at the time they sign-up.
In order to participate you will be required to create an account with Impact and accept the Xero Customer Referral Program Agreement and Impact Terms of Service, and any other agreement or documentation required by Impact.

You’ll be eligible to receive commission payments for up to 12 months for each Referred Subscriber, or until they stop being a paying subscriber to Xero’s services, whichever happens first. You are only eligible to earn commission payments on a total of 25 Referred Subscribers.

For example, if your referred subscriber's Xero subscription costs $47.00 but they receive a 90% discount for the first six months upon joining, their net subscription price during that time would be $4.70, and your commission would be $1.41 per month for those six months. Your commission will then be $14.10 for the remaining six months unless they make any changes to their subscription.

Monitoring the status of your referrals
Impact provides a dashboard and built-in reporting, so you can see how many people you’ve referred and monitor the commission you’ve earned. Sign in to view the status of your reward, here.

By default - your rewards will show in NZD. If you prefer to withdraw your commissions in a currency other than NZD you can update this in your account settings.
Changing your account currency in-app eliminates the need to manually convert currencies displayed in-app.
To change your preferred currency
1. Log into your Impact account.
2. Click on your initial in the top right-hand corner of your dashboard.
3. Click "My Profile" from the drop-down list that appears.
4. Scroll down to the "Preferred currency" section.
5. Select your preferred currency and click "Save".

There are a few reasons you may not see a referral in your Impact account. The main reason is that your Referred Subscriber information hasn’t yet flowed from Xero into the Impact platform (this can sometimes be delayed).

Your converted referral could take up to 48 hours to register in your Impact account. This delay is expected, as the referral data moves through internal Xero validation and compliance protocols before being passed to Impact. Once those checks are complete, your referral will appear in your dashboard automatically, no action is required from you.

Once your commission status is “available” in your Impact account, you can choose to withdraw it via PayPal or direct deposit. You will receive an email notification from Impact once you have a commission available for withdrawal. The minimum payout threshold is AU$15.00

Because this program offers cash commissions, you will be required to submit your tax and payment details and complete any required forms to ensure you receive your payments securely and in compliance with tax laws.
