We’re dedicated to improving the lives of small business owners everywhere. Xero Small Business Insights is a snapshot of the sector's health in each of our three biggest regions – Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom – updated regularly to provide a picture of business conditions. The metrics are based on aggregated, anonymised data drawn from hundreds of thousands of Xero subscribers. These inform government decision makers and we believe they will help bring about changes such as reducing the amount of time it takes big companies to pay small businesses.

Protecting customer data

Xero is committed to the security of customer data. We protect customer data with multiple layers of security and extensive monitoring.

Xero complies with relevant industry standards. We are certified as compliant with ISO/IEC 27001: 2013 which is globally recognized as the premier information security management system (ISMS) standard. We also have available a Service Organization Control (SOC 2) report as a result of an independent auditor's examination into customer security controls.  

Xero welcomed the implementation of GDPR in 2018 and has implemented a range of associated compliance measures. In addition, we’ve instituted two-step authentication (2SA) at login. Two-step authentication is encouraged but optional for Xero customers, except in Australia where it’s mandatory.

We provide timely advice to customers on security risks and provide information and education on how to reduce them. Moreover, our products include embedded security monitoring and audit tools that better enable small businesses to evaluate risks within their businesses. Our privacy notice outlines in plain English how personal data is used and protected by Xeo.
