I’m an accountant or bookkeeper, or an app partner. How can I nominate our business for a Xero Award?

You’ll need to put together a Xero Awards entry and submit it no later than 11:59 PM Monday 8 August 2022.. There are five questions per category that you need to answer with a maximum of 300 words per question. Writing a Xero Awards entry can be fun and a great opportunity to get the team together and reflect on what you’ve achieved over the last year. Once you’ve drafted your entry, head to awards.xero.com to submit your nomination.

Has anything changed from the 2021 Xero Awards?

We have changed the full-time equivalent employee criteria for the Small, Medium and Large Accounting Partner of the Year awards to better reflect the industry. Here’s an overview of what’s changed:

Small Accounting Partner of the Year

2022 NEW: The Xero partner must have 1 to 8 full-time equivalent employees (FTEs), which includes outsourced employees if it’s a stable team of people.

2021: The Xero partner must have 1 to 10 full-time equivalent employees (FTEs), which includes outsourced employees if it’s a stable team of people.

Medium Accounting Partner of the Year

2022 NEW: The Xero partner must have 9 to 24 full-time equivalent employees (FTEs), which includes outsourced employees if it’s a stable team of people.

2021: The Xero partner must have 11 to 40 full-time equivalent employees (FTEs), which includes outsourced employees if it’s a stable team of people.

Large Accounting Partner of the Year

2022 NEW: The Xero partner must have 25+ full-time equivalent employees (FTEs), which includes outsourced employees if it’s a stable team of people.

2021: The Xero partner must have 41+ full-time equivalent employees (FTEs), which includes outsourced employees if it’s a stable team of people.

Are there any new award categories for 2022?

No. There are 11 categories for Xero Awards New Zealand 2022, all of which are the same as last year:

• Small Accounting Partner of the Year
• Medium Accounting Partner of the Year
• Large Accounting Partner of the Year
• National Partner of the Year
• Bookkeeping Partner of the Year
• Advisory Partner of the Year
• Vertical Partner of the Year
• People’s Choice Award
• Emerging App Partner of the Year
• App Partner of the Year
• App Integrator of the Year

When will the finalists be announced?

Finalists will be announced on Thursday 1 September 2022.

Where and when will the Xero Awards celebration event take place?

The exclusive awards ceremony will be taking place in Auckland in November and we’ll be sharing details with all finalists shortly.

Can you tell me more about the $5,000 Bizink prize pack?

How easy is it to submit a Xero Award nomination?

Submitting a Xero Awards nomination is pretty simple. For accountants and bookkeepers, there are 7 award categories to choose from, each with only 5 questions and a maximum of 300 words per question. Take a look at the categories, criteria and entry questions.
