Do all my clients need to be on Xero in order to use Xero Tax?

No. It will be easier to manage your business clients end to end with the Xero single ledger, but there is no requirement for you to have each client on a Xero ledger/organisation to use Xero Tax.

How much does it cost to use Xero Tax?

Xero Tax is part of Practice Studio which also includes Xero Workpapers, Practice Reports and Xero Practice Manager. Practice Studio is free of charge for certified Xero partners who are silver level and above. If you aren’t silver just yet you can purchase Xero Practice Studio for a typical cost of $149 (excl GST) per month.

What are the newest changes that have been made to Xero Tax?

What support options are available?

Xero Practice products are supported by Xero via dedicated email support, the award-winning Xero Help Centre and online learning delivered via Xero U and Xero TV. You can also engage with our Xero Practice consultants who can can provide end to end assistance with implementation, migration and training.

How do I migrate my existing client data?

Active client list details can be imported via CSV from your existing software into Xero Practice Manager. Client tax statement and selected transactional data is automatically imported and updated once you are linked to Inland Revenue.

How does Xero Tax integrate with client accounting?

GST returns and the IR10 financial statements summary have a Xero import option. This allows you to connect to a Xero organisation and pre-fill the form fields in Xero Tax. Alternatively, data can be entered directly into the GST and income tax form for non-Xero clients.

What forms are supported by Xero Tax?

Xero Tax supports the electronic filing the following forms and schedules with the IRD:
