Running a more sustainable Xerocon
Xero is doing whatever it can to make this year’s event more sustainable and to reduce its environmental impact.
A sustainably responsible venue
ICC Sydney is part of a socially responsible and environmentally sensitive convention, exhibition and entertainment precinct, Darling Harbour Live. It is set to achieve gold certification with the US Green Building Council for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).

Exhibitor booths will be built using Re-board®, a Forest Stewardship Council certified company who focuses on minimizing the impact its products have on the environment.
Public transport encouraged
We’re bringing people together in the centre of one of Australia's biggest cities. ICC Sydney is close to the Sydney CBD, making it easy for most people to reach it on foot, by bicycle, light rail, bus, ferry, or by train from the airport.
Considered menu choices
In planning the menus for Xerocon, we select items from local producers to help limit transport and freight impacts. We also use recyclable food containers, clearly marked recycle bins, and encourage attendees to fill and refill their own water bottle from on-site water fountains.
T-shirts made to order
The Xerocon t-shirts are pre-ordered by those who want them, and manufactured in the right quantity to minimize wastage. In addition, wrap-party wristbands are made from recyclable plastic, and crew lanyards and t-shirts are produced from sustainable materials.
