Prize competition terms and conditions

1. The Small/medium business X Hacks competition (Competition) is run on behalf of Xero Australia Pty Limited, with its registered office at Level 3, 254 - 260 Burwood Road, Hawthorn, Victoria 3122, Australia (Xero), and is open from 0:00 15 April 2025 to 23:59 30 May 2025 AEST (the Competition Period). Xero may extend, cancel or amend this Competition and/or review and update these terms and conditions on its website at any time, at its sole discretion.

2. To be eligible to enter the Competition (Eligible Entrant), entrants must:

1. have a valid Xero business edition subscription (all plans);
2. reside in any Australian state or territory for the duration of the Competition Period;
3. be aged 18 years or over; and
4. submit a hack via the Xero competition landing page at xero.com/au/xhacks/comp that is verified as valid by nominated Xero parties (Competition Task).

3. Xero employees and their immediate family are not eligible to enter the Competition.

4. In order to enter the Competition, an Eligible Entrant must:

1. Visit the competition landing page at xero.com/au/xhacks/comp and fill in the form to submit their ‘X Hack’

5. There is a limit of one entry per Eligible Entrant.

6. Eligible Entrants will have a chance to win 1 of 5 $500 Bunnings vouchers (Prize). There is 5 available to be won.

7. 5 winners will be chosen at the Xero Australia office specified above from all Eligible Entrant entries following the end of the Competition Period and no later than June 30 2025 (Winners). The criteria for deciding the winning entries for this Competition are [‘hacks’ that can be used within Xero accounting software that help users save time by optimising Xero usage, as determined by Xero Marketing, Education and Partner Consulting teams at their discretion. For the purpose of determining the Winners, Xero will evaluate each entry according to its quality, originality, and alignment to the Competition Task (each criterion weighted equally).

8. The Winners will be notified by email, or using any other contact details you give us. If we have made a reasonable attempt to contact a Winner, and a Winner has not responded within three (3) business days, or a Winner is unable to use the Prize, the Prize will be forfeited and Xero will choose another Winner. In the event of any dispute, Xero’s decision is final.

9. Names of the Winners will be published on the Xero website at the end of the Competition Period and will remain for at least 28 days.

10. Xero does not warrant that the Prize will meet the Winners’ requirements or that it will be suitable for any particular purpose. To avoid doubt, all implied conditions or warranties are excluded in so far as is permitted by law, including (without limitation) warranties of merchantability and fitness for purpose.

11. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Bunnings.

12. The Prize cannot be transferred to others, or exchanged for cash or other benefits and cannot be split.

13. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Xero and its affiliated companies shall not be liable in any way (including, without limitation, in negligence), for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including, without limitation, direct, indirect or consequential loss), or for any loss or damage or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Competition.

14. By accepting the Prize, the Winner agrees to participate in any publicity related to their Prize, and that Xero can use the Winners’ likeness, image and/or voice (including photograph, film and/or recording) in any media for an unlimited period of time without payment, to promote Xero and any of its other products.

15. By participating in the Competition and by submitting any contact details, each Participant consents to receive the latest news, special offers, promotions and information from Xero by email, TXT or other channels from time to time. If at any stage you do not want to receive this information then please let us know, or use the ‘unsubscribe’ feature on communications we send you.

16. The Winner agrees that Xero may withdraw the Winners right to their Prize if:

1. Xero’s name is, or is likely to be in Xero’s reasonable opinion, damaged or brought into disrepute or ridicule by the Winner or by being associated with the Winner; or
2. The Winner is involved directly or indirectly in any situation (whether the relevant situation occurred before, during or after the Competition Period) which brings, or in the reasonable opinion of Xero is likely to bring, any of the Winner, Xero or the Competition into disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule.

17. All Eligible Entrants’ entries become the property of Xero on submission.

18. You agree that:

1. You are fully responsible for any materials you submit via the Competition, including comments, recordings, documents, responses (Content);
2. You will not submit Content that;
3. To the full extent permitted by law, Xero will not be liable for the Content; and
4. Xero may remove, decline to publish or invalidate any Content or ancestry without notice for any reason.

19. Xero’s decisions on all matters relating to this Competition (including but not limited to the registration of entrants and the determination of the Winners, the awarding of the Prize and the operation of the Competition) will be final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding it. If for any reason any aspect of this Competition is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of computer virus, communications network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failure or any cause beyond the control of Xero, Xero may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition and invalidate any selected entries, or suspend or modify a prize, subject to State or Territory regulation.

20. All use of Xero’s services is subject to Xero’s Terms of Use. Any personal information which we collect from you can be used in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

21. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
