Earning partner points
With the new plans introduced on 1 July 2024, Xero accounting and bookkeeping partners continue to earn points through the Xero partner program.
What happens to partner points when clients move to new plans
When clients move to a new plan, you’ll start to earn points for the new plan as outlined in the table, ‘Points for new plans’ below. Once a client is on a new plan, points will cease for the old plan, and for any add-ons they had, except for Hubdoc.
Examples of points when moving from old to new plans
Here are examples of how the points will work when moving from an old to a new plan.
- If you move a client from Starter to Ignite, you’ll start earning points for Ignite, and no longer earn points for Starter.
- If you move a client from Standard with Xero Expenses as an add-on to Comprehensive, then you’ll earn points for Comprehensive (but no longer earn points for Xero Expenses.)
Partner points for the new plans
See the points you can earn
Earn points for every new client you connect to Xero, whether you pay for their subscription or not. The points table for new plans shows the points that Xero accounting and bookkeeping partners earn when you or a client is subscribed to new Xero plans.

* You can earn and retain points where you actively use Xero Expenses, Payroll, Projects or Hubdoc in your practice. You can also earn points where your clients actively use Hubdoc.
Partner points for the old plans
Unless you or your client make changes to your client’s existing plan on or after 1 July 2024, or Xero migrates you to a new plan (following 60 days’ notice), you’ll continue to earn points according to the current points and criteria outlined on Xero Central.

We’ll move subscribers who haven’t already moved to a new plan in phases, taking into account their current plan and add-ons. Check out the blog to learn more about our migration approach.
