Chief Executive / Executive Director

Rod is the visionary behind Xero and has been recognized as New Zealand Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013, Business Leader of the Year in 2012, member of the New Zealand Hi-Tech Hall of Fame, NZ Hi-Tech Entrepreneur of the Year in 2006 and 2007, World Class New Zealander for ICT in 2008 and an Honorary Fellow of the NZ Computer Society.

Ross Jenkins

Ross Jenkins

Chief Operating Officer

Ross is responsible for all field operations of Xero. He brings over 30 years of financial and general business management experience to the COO role.

Before joining Xero, he held a range of roles from Audit Clerk to MD in organisations like PWC, Lion Breweries, Baycorp, ComputerLand NZ and Onesource. He has also been involved in a number of M&A and Executive consulting assignments while maintaining directorships in small IT companies.

Doug Jeffries

Chief Financial Officer

Doug is responsible for all of Xero’s financial and administrative functions. He brings to the CFO role 30 years of financial, strategic and operational leadership experience.

Before joining Xero, Doug held a range of roles at public growth companies and category leaders including RetailMeNot, Taleo Corporation, Palm Inc. and Ebay Inc.

Duncan Ritchie

Duncan Ritchie

Chief Platform Officer

With 15 years’ experience in IT management positions, Duncan is responsible for ensuring our systems and services meet the high standards Xero customers have come to expect, managing all aspects of our product development, production operations and customer support.

Duncan came to Xero in 2011 after a three year stint as Gen-i’s Head of Application Management where he managed the lifecycle of the company’s business applications, focusing on simplifying the business through application improvements.

Angus Norton

Chief Product Officer

Angus is responsible for the Engineering and Product Management of Xero's core Accounting product portfolio. His team drives product strategy, and development for Xero's current market leading products, while also leading Xero's vision for entering new markets and future product investments. Angus is a native of New Zealand, and has over 20 years of experience in Hi-tech product management, marketing and development.

Prior to joining Xero Angus, spent 15 years in the US where he held a number of executive positions out of Microsoft's global headquarters in Seattle. Most recently he was the General Manager and Vice President of Microsoft's Office Division in the US.

Andy Lark

Chief Marketing Officer

Andy Lark is responsible for Xero’s global marketing strategy with particular focus on driving growth in the United States. Andy’s 25 years of executive experience across business-to-business and consumer sectors includes building several successful ​technology and consulting ​businesses​,​ and​,​ ​chief marketing and digital officer roles for Fortune and Times 100 companies, global technology brands, start-ups and the world’s hottest advertising and communications agencies.

​Prior to joining Xero Andy was the CEO of Group Lark and chief marketing and digital officer for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He has held global executive roles based in the US with Dell, LogLogic, Sun Microsystems and Nortel.

​Today he is a non executive director of Mighty River Power, Fronde, ​Simple, ​and SLI Systems​. Andy also sits on a number ​​of technology advisory boards.

Chris Teeling

Chris Teeling

Head of Strategy

Chris is responsible for Xero’s strategy development. He has over 15 years of experience in the technology industry developing and executing strategy, business planning and M&A. He has a passion for driving rapid business growth, and is a recognised thought-leader on strategy and innovation in the digital age.

Before joining Xero, Chris was COO of GreenButton Limited a cloud supercomputing company with customers including Pixar, Nasa and Boeing. He also draws on experience as a Director of Strategy with Cap Gemini, and leadership roles with JPMorgan in London and New York.

Matt Vaughan

Matt Vaughan

General Counsel & Company Secretary

Matt is responsible for legal strategy and compliance across Xero’s global business.

Matt has previously worked in private practice and in-house, advising on all aspects of corporate law. Most recently, he held roles at PwC and Charter Hall in Sydney, and prior to that in a top tier offshore law firm primarily advising growth companies operating out of North and South America. Matt is qualified to practice as a lawyer in New Zealand, Australia, and the Cayman Islands.

Carol MacKinlay

Senior Vice President, People Experience

Carol leads our people strategy, along with our executive and Board relations as Xero continues to grow around the world. She has more than 20 years experience in talent management, recruiting and compensation, with recent roles in the enterprise software and consumer electronic areas. Her expertise is in scaling companies while holding tight to the value systems and culture that brought them early success.

Amy Vetter

Amy Vetter

Global VP of Education & Enablement

Amy is accountable for developing and executing the education strategy for Xero worldwide, such as Xero University (XeroU). Her role includes creating global consistency for the creation and management of training programs for Xero’s accounting partners, implementation partners and customers.

Prior to Xero, she was the CPA Programs Leader for Intacct Corporation and performed many roles in the accountant professional division with Intuit, Inc. Additionally, Amy has experience running client accounting services practices, whether it be her own company or as a Partner in a CPA firm. She has authored a number of accounting technology reference materials and has been a contributor and a national speaker on financial and technology topics at conferences and universities throughout the United States.

Nigel Piper

Nigel Piper

General Manager Customer Experience

Nigel manages Xero's Customer Support area making sure we are delivering fantastic customer service to all of Xero's customers. He has been involved in managing customer experiences for over 15 years.

Prior to Xero, Nigel had a long career at Inland Revenue where he had a number of operational management and customer interaction roles including the management of contact centres, complaints management, child support, and more recently the introduction of technology applications such as voice biometrics and natural language speech recognition.
