What is Hubdoc?
Hubdoc is a data capture solution that gives your practice the tools to easily capture bills and receipts from clients. Once documents have been seamlessly uploaded to Hubdoc, the key data is extracted and synced to Xero as accurately coded transactions with the source documents attached. Hubdoc transactions are automatically matched to the corresponding transaction in the Xero bank feed, ready for one-click reconciliation.

Hubdoc is included in some Xero plans
We’re on a mission to automate pesky administrative tasks so you can spend more time running your practice. So now, Hubdoc is included in Xero Starter, Standard and Premium plans. With Hubdoc and Xero, collecting bills and receipts, entering data, and reconciling against bank feeds are all simplified.
Earn Xero partner points
Hubdoc is officially part of the Xero partner program. That means you’ll earn 5 partner points for connecting and actively using Hubdoc with your Xero practice organisation. You’ll also earn 1 point when you connect a client’s Hubdoc organisation with their Xero organisation and actively create transactions between Hubdoc and Xero.
How Hubdoc works with Xero

Hubdoc is Xero’s data capture solution. With Hubdoc, small businesses have the tools to upload financial documents like bills and receipts via their mobile device, desktop, email or scanner.
Once documents are in Hubdoc, key data including supplier name, date and amount are extracted. The transaction can then be accurately coded and seamlessly synced to Xero, where it’s matched to the corresponding transaction in the Xero bank feed with the source document attached, ready for one-click reconciliation.
With Hubdoc and Xero, you can save time and get the client information you need, when you need it, to work more efficiently and build deeper relationships.
As a Xero accountant or bookkeeper partner, you’re eligible for a free Hubdoc account for your practice for life. To set up a Hubdoc practice or client organisation, you must have a master admin or admin role in Xero HQ or My Xero Partner Edition, or be the subscriber. To set up Hubdoc, follow the steps below.
You certainly can. However, Hubdoc isn’t included in these plans and you’ll be billed for them separately.
If you'd like to start using Hubdoc with Xero Cashbook or Xero Ledger, you can create a new Hubdoc organisation in Xero. Here’s how:
- Log in to Xero.
- Click your organisation name.
- Select Hubdoc then Set up Hubdoc.
If you have clients on Xero Starter, Standard or Premium plans and they're already connected to Hubdoc, you will no longer be billed for these accounts by Hubdoc starting 18 March 2020.
