Get ready for the UAE eInvoicing mandate with Xero
The MoF is introducing compulsory eInvoicing for businesses in the UAE. Emails and paper invoices will be replaced with the fast, accurate system of exchanging structured data. Xero will help you hit your deadline and embrace the new system – with eInvoicing features launching soon.
Key dates for your diary
The MoF requires every business in the UAE to use a decentralised real-time reporting model for eInvoicing. This means structured invoices are transmitted via an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) over the Peppol network, with tax data reported to the FTA simultaneously. Here are the key dates:
- Large businesses (revenue ≥ AED 50 million): – Appoint an ASP by: 30 October 2026 – Go live: 1 January 2027
- Small and medium businesses (revenue < AED 50 million): – Appoint an ASP by: 31 March 2027 – Go live: 1 July 2027
Connect your local bank for direct feeds
Xero connects with Wio Bank, Alaan and more, so your transactions regularly flow into your Xero organisation. No more manual imports or guessing how much cash you have available! Just a super-clear picture of your finances and bank balance.
- Secure, encrypted bank connections via APIs give you peace of mind
- Your financial data flows automatically into Xero via a direct bank feed
- Xero’s reconciliation tool suggests transaction matches and speeds up this admin

FAQs on Xero's UAE software
eInvoicing means exchanging invoices in a structured digital format directly between accounting systems, instead of emailing PDFs and other files.
Although adopting a new system can be daunting, Xero’s intuitive UAE accounting software will make your eInvoicing fast and accurate. Because your clients will go through fewer steps to pay you, they are likely to do so sooner than in the traditional system. And Xero automatically keeps an audit trail of all your invoice transactions.
