Our judging process

This year, we’re employing a different judging process for each of our awards categories. Here’s a quick look at the differences:

UK accounting, bookkeeping and app partner awards

Our robust and democratic judging process is a key part of the Xero Awards. This year, we’re welcoming three guest external judges along with new Xero employee judges.

Mixing it up like this means we continue to have a variety of knowledge and expertise on the judging panel. We’ve also established a two-step judging process that will guarantee the applications receive the consideration they deserve.

Step one

All nominations will initially be reviewed by our Xero application committee. A minimum of two application committee members, who are specialists in relevant areas, will review each application. They’ll score each application and unanimously put forward their recommendations to the judging panel.

Step two

The judging panel is made up of senior leadership members at Xero and external industry specialists. They have been specially selected due to their range of skills, experience and industry knowledge. The panel will assess each of the recommended submissions and unanimously agree on a list of finalists and winners.

Our new 'Human Awards'

The People’s Choice Award is for clients to recognise their accountants. The partner who receives the most votes will win this award.

The Community Impact Award will be judged by our guest judges from The Samaritans, Xero’s chosen UK charity – Sonya Trivedy, Executive Director of Income and Monica Turner, Chair of Regional Directors.

Xero's Most Valued Professional Award is not open for applications and will be voted by our judging panel.

Due to the number of applications, Xero can only provide feedback for finalist and winning applicants.
