Humans Being: The psychology and neuroscience of influence
Speaker: Nigel Latta, Clinical Psychologist and Author

Your brain is the most astounding thing you will ever possess, and odds are you take it completely for granted. This small tofu-like blob floats in a box in the dark and—unless something has gone terribly wrong—has no direct contact with the world, save for some pipes bringing stuff in and pipes sending stuff back out. While we could spend years waxing lyrical about the wonders of the human brain, in this session Nigel will focus on the wonder of connection, and specifically will talk about an ancient and very simple principle which makes the exercise of connecting with other brains and influencing them in meaningful ways much more likely. If you’ve ever struggled to manage difficult clients, colleagues, or even your own kids, then this keynote will reveal a surprisingly simple trick which dates back some 3.7 million years as Nigel explains how to influence stone age brains in smart phone times.

11:55 AM - 12:40 PM

Product Update
Speaker: Anna Curzon, Chief Product Officer, Xero

Let’s face it, the business landscape is moving fast so Xero is thinking ahead and investing to ensure our community of advisors and small business owners are using innovative products embedded with the latest technology. Anna Curzon, Chief Product Officer at Xero will outline how our new products and enhancements are taking the stress out of the finances, squeezing time out of processes that are necessary, but not differentiating, and making life more enjoyable for the accountants and bookkeepers who serve our customers across the globe.

12:40 - 12:55 PM

The Platform that Powers Small Business
Speaker: Nick Houldsworth, Executive General Manager - Ecosystem, Xero

What binds our Xero community is the innovative platform from which we all operate. This platform holds the key to how advisors can help small business owners expand and differentiate to make their businesses more successful. Nick Houldsworth, EGM - Ecosystem, will discuss why the Xero platform is unique and how we are expanding our community with financial institutions and ecosystem partners creating deeper, data-rich connections that deliver breakthrough solutions to help small business and advisors tackle the biggest financial challenges.
