Steve began his accounting career in 1996 and has experience with public and private clients in the financial, professional services, manufacturing and technology sectors. He also has extensive credentials in both for- and non-profit organizations, and has served as a church treasurer/board member, controller and business administrator.
Steve began Chaney & Associates from scratch in May 2002. Today, Chaney & Associates has grown to become Xero’s first United States Gold and Platinum Partner — not to mention Xero’s 2013 United States Partner of the Year.

Prior to co-founding his accounting firm, Harshman, Phillips & Company (HPC), Bruce spent seven years at Ernst & Young, including two years as Audit Manager. As he helped clients navigate the challenging tax and compliance environments in each role, he gained invaluable insight into best (and not-so-best) practices for conducting business and the myriad of ways technology can enhance business efficiency.
Today Bruce is Xero Platinum Partner and has transformed HPC from a 20-year traditional audit and tax CPA firm into a technology-driven, cloud-based, CPA and advisory practice.
