Funding entitlements for gold and platinum partners

For gold and platinum partners in New Zealand, we’ll help fund pre-approved marketing activities that promote your Xero partner status. You’ll be reimbursed, dollar for dollar, up to a maximum of $5,000 a year.

How the partner marketing fund works

The partner marketing fund seeks to support you when you promote your practice’s status as a Xero partner. You can use the funds to attract new clients or raise awareness of Xero among your existing clients. Note that your marketing fund entitlement refreshes for every new financial year.

Four easy steps to receive marketing funding

Just follow these steps to apply for and receive reimbursement from the partner marketing fund.

It’s always better to apply for the funding first and gain pre-approval for your upcoming marketing spend. When in doubt, check in with your Xero account manager.

Step 1. Apply for funding

Fill in the online funding application form before you start your activity. We’ll assess the validity of your application and be in touch within five business days.

Step 2. Go ahead with your activity

Once you receive pre-approval for funding, you can get on with marketing with peace of mind. Do take photos of your ads and events as we’d love to see them.

Step 3. Share the details

Once your marketing activity is complete, send us the details and bill us for the amount to be reimbursed based on the approval. Include any invoices from suppliers.

Step 4. Woohoo – money in the bank!

Once we’ve verified your invoices, we’ll process your reimbursement. Note that it can take up to 30 days before you receive payment.

FAQs

Who is eligible for partner marketing funds?

Xero gold and platinum partners in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands are eligible for partner marketing funds. Learn more about the Xero partner program and its benefits.

What am I entitled to if I meet the eligibility criteria?

Xero gold and platinum partners can claim up to $5,000 in a financial year for funding where we’ll cover up to 50% of the cost of approved marketing activities.

What are approved marketing activities?

The co-op marketing fund covers your marketing activity including but not limited to:

  • digital and social advertising, such as Facebook ads and digital billboards,
  • newspaper and magazine advertising, such as in industry publications,
  • mass media advertising such as radio and television,
  • editorial costs such as content writing,
  • Xero collateral such as flyers or brochures.

What are the criteria for each approved marketing activity?

To qualify for the co-op marketing fund, your marketing activity must:

  • include a Xero partner badge,
  • promote the benefits of Xero, and
  • include a call to action to visit www.xero.com where possible.

In what cases would the funding NOT be approved?

Here are some examples of activities we aren’t able to support from the partner marketing fund:

  • Accommodation and travel to and from events
  • Sponsorship of local sports teams, athletes and events
  • Staff uniforms or clothing
  • Conferences where Xero is already a sponsor
  • Generic branding or advertising that doesn’t specifically reference Xero
  • Search engine optimisation (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) or Google AdWords campaigns
  • Anything that mentions or promotes other accounting software providers
