Learn on the job with the Xero grad program and find out how your career can flourish
We know what it takes to help you do the best work of your life and we’ll invest in you to help you get there.
You’ll start your career with a close-knit group of grads giving you instant connections around the business. We’ll hook you up with a buddy and you’ll work closely with your manager to create a career development plan.
We’ll help you develop your technical skills and your people skills, so whether you know how you want your career to develop or you want to explore your options, we’ll help you get there.
Permanent! You’re guaranteed a permanent position within our Xero family after you complete the grad program. We even have a special ‘un-graduation’ ceremony at the end of the year to celebrate you joining the business as a fully-fledged Xero.
This depends on the type of role you’re in. For developers and some engineer roles this isn’t usually decided until your last rotation. We’ll ask for your preference and for feedback from the teams you’ve worked in to find a placement that matches your skills and interests.
For other grads you may be placed in your permanent team from the start of the program. Usually this means we’ve got specialist rotations in mind for you, so you’ll still get heaps of learning opportunities and all the support you need.
If you have a preference about the area you’d like to work in let us know in your application, but if not, don’t worry, it’s something we’ll talk to you about throughout the recruitment process.
The Xero grad program is for people who have less than a year’s professional work experience as we teach skills and competencies from entry level. If you have part-time work experience, that’s awesome, but if you have a couple of years under your belt then you may be better suited to a junior or intermediate role, so keep an eye on our careers page.
No, our Hawke’s Bay office is too small to support a grad program at the moment.
For the first few stages of the recruitment process you’ll only need access to a computer and an internet connection. We do run grad days in July, but if you’re invited to our offices to interview, we’ll fly you in and out at no cost to you.
Still got a question?
If you’ve got any questions about Xero, the grad program or the application process just send us a message and we’ll get back to you. We’re here to help!
