eCommerce is no longer a trend, it has become essential for many businesses all over the world. It’s perhaps not surprising then to see an increasing number of customers looking for apps to support their ecommerce needs. In fact, Shopify took out the top spot as the most searched for app on the Xero App Store between April and November this year.
That’s why we’re pleased to announce a new integration with Shopify – one of the world’s leading ecommerce platforms. The new Xero & Shopify app, built in-house and with 24/7 Xero developer support, is available now in both the Xero App Store and the Shopify App Store.
What does this mean for you, our small business customers and advisors? Check out the full feature set here.
Xero was named in Shopify’s Plus Certified App Program (PCAP), a select group of partners that support the advanced needs of Shopify’s global merchants.
But it’s not just about great partnerships: for more on what Xero is doing around inventory management check out this blog article from Anna Curzon. It’s an exciting space and there’s a lot more to come.
The Xero & Shopify integration is available globally in the Xero App Store and in the Shopify App Store, alongside other solutions to help customers integrate Shopify into their workflows. Customers using existing Xero-Shopify integrations will be unaffected.
There are already tools on the market that integrate xero and Shopify.
I have no idea if this is better, as it bored me to death. Pointless video full of marketing jargon.
Sorry you feel that way, Trev – we are very excited by the new Xero & Shopify integration, especially for our small business customers and their advisors.
Hi can you keep a stock check as well? So if I have stock on shopify it will cross over to xero and account for any manual order I put through on xero as I keep a stock count on shopify
Thank you
Hi Louise, we have a number of connected app partners on the Xero App Store that can help with keeping tabs on your inventory.
Does this provide a bank feed for Shopify Payments? That is the major gap at the moment – there are other solutions for the basic salsa data coming across from Shopify.
Hi Kerry – thanks for your question! Shopify Payments are normally received in a bank account that is nominated when setting up a Shopify store. If you have that bank account setup as a bank feed in your Xero organisation, your Shopify Payment transaction data should flow through with that bank feed.
However, there is no bank feed specifically for just Shopify Payments. If you have any further questions, please raise a case with Xero Support so we can help you further. Thanks!
Why is it that sometimes a Shopify payment invoice is created and sometime it is not created in Xero and we then we have to create a manual invoice – Company Name – Grease Trap Servicing Ltd?
Hi Danielle, would you mind raising a case with our support team in regards to this so that we can take a closer look at what may be happening here? Thanks so much!
