We’re delighted to announce that RSM Australia, a global top 10 accounting firm, has made the decision to move its tax and compliance work onto the Xero platform. This makes Xero the preferred solution for RSM’s advisors and its tens of thousands of mid-market clients across the country.
The agreement also marks the single biggest migration ever to Xero. RSM’s middle-market client base is one of the largest in Australia, served by 30 offices nationally. Xero has a growing presence among large and mid-tier accounting-firms, and we’re thrilled to welcome RSM.
The RSM deal follows closely on the heels of Xero’s Australian integration with cloud practice-management solution GreatSoft, which serves large accounting firms globally. RSM will also adopt GreatSoft as it migrates to Xero, as the two solutions create a truly integrated cloud practice ecosystem.
At Xero, we’ve seen firsthand how a purely cloud-based accounting solution benefits businesses and their advisers. Add in GreatSoft, and the combination gives RSM’s advisers a cloud-based tool to manage their practices.
That means a seamless adviser experience across tax, compliance and other services. Meanwhile, Xero’s abilities in machine learning and automation boost efficiency on both the client and advisor end. The result is an integrated platform that paves the way for high value advisory beyond just tax and compliance.
For example, we know that data entry is one of the pain points for accountants and bookkeepers. Not only can it be repetitive, it’s also prone to error. Xero’s machine learning capabilities to save time and increase accuracy, saving the adviser time and clearing the way for advisory services.
The benefits extend to RSM clients as well. For example, Xero users can invoice their customers from any device at any time. The machine learning functionality means the software learns how a business is run, automatically completing the majority of an invoice based on previous entries.
Business owners also no longer have to spend time entering codes or tax rates. This means it’s easier to issue invoices as soon as the job is completed, reducing the end-of-the-day or end-of-the-week administration that’s familiar to many small business owners. Making invoices easier to create and send from a smartphone also means it’s likely that invoices will be paid faster – and it doesn’t hurt that they’re mobile-friendly and easy to preview.
An ecosystem of apps
For GreatSoft, RSM will be its biggest Australian customer. The move to Xero and GreatSoft gives RSM the freedom to choose the best applications for its internal workflows, as well as giving RSM’s business clients access to over 800 third-party applications that integrate with Xero.
The integrated platform will provide a seamless client experience by eliminating data silos and having a single access point for RSM advisers to quickly and easily view information about their clients when they need it, from any device, anywhere.
This includes information from Xero tax and software provided by other leading cloud solutions for compliance, superannuation, document management and CRM. The result is a unified view of the client and a single source of truth, across multiple offices and business lines.
