Today, we’re excited to announce that GST and HST returns are now available in Xero for Canadian accountants, bookkeepers and small businesses subscribed to Xero Cashbook and any Xero Business Edition plan. The new feature brings sales tax calculations into a Xero GST/HST form, and is designed to help you prepare and manage your client’s GST/HST returns more efficiently and accurately.
Key features include:
- Time-savings: Xero’s GST/HST return can be generated in a few clicks with automatic calculations of most return lines, simplifying a complex workflow.
- Transparency: An additional tab labeled “Transactions by line number” provides visibility into each line calculation, making it easy to audit a return.
- Easy access: Save drafts or finalize GST/HST returns across multiple tax periods, all in Xero.
By automating Canadian GST and HST returns, advisors should be able to eliminate some of the hassle during tax time, grow their practice, and help small business clients with their tax obligations from day one. We want to streamline the tax process, cut down on the form-filling, and free up more time for client collaboration.
