We’re pleased to tell you that the advisor directory improvements you’ve asked for are beginning to roll out. These enhancements mean that your practice will appear to more small businesses in your area that are interested in the services you offer.
The following changes are now live for Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US. If you’re outside these regions, the enhanced location search results will go live in 2019.
Better search rankings based on your location and partner points
Before these enhancements, if someone searched for an advisor by location, your practice would appear based on your office being in that location and how many clients you have using Xero throughout your entire country. The location of your clients and the number of partner points you have weren’t taken into account.
That’s changing. New search results by location will include practices that have an office and/or clients in that area. Additionally, you’ll be ranked higher in the search results based on the number of partner points you have for clients in the search area.
To appear as prominently as possible, make sure all your clients’ physical addresses are in Xero – it’s called geotagging. This quick video shows you how. If you don’t want your office location to show, you can still check the ‘Advisor without a public office location’ box. If you’re outside of the UK, US, Australia and New Zealand, you can’t geotag your clients yet. We’re working on it and we’ll let you know as soon as you can.
Show off your expertise with more industries and new bank connections
There’s more good news. Now your advisor directory listing can show up to 21 industries that you serve instead of just seven. When you have three or more clients tagged to a certain industry, it’ll show up in your listing. You can update a client’s industry in Xero HQ Explorer.
Banks are another new enhancement. The directory will show a bank’s name when you’ve got three or more clients connected through direct bank feeds. The bank experience section works just like industry and app experience sections so the more direct bank feed connections you make for your clients, the more banks show up on your listing. This information gives small businesses confidence that you can help get them connected to their bank.
