In the final two days of Xero’s 24-venue journey, Xero Roadshow landed in Brisbane. With 750 accountants and bookkeepers descending upon the city, excitement was again high to hear the latest in the rapidly evolving world of cloud technology.

When I spoke to today’s attendees, it seemed everyone walked away with a different takeout from today’s sessions.

There were the firms that brought along their whole team…

“The Xero Roadshow is a great chance to introduce our entire staff to Xero and open their eyes to what’s happening in the industry,” said Stephen Warwick, Partner at Brisbane-based bookkeeping practice Reconciled. “We are living in the emerging ‘golden age’ of cloud service providers and we see a real benefit in having our staff meet different app partners and understand the benefits they can provide to clients. The Xero Roadshow should be a priority for the entire firm to attend. It’s a chance to bring your staff on the journey and see where you are steering the ship.”

To partners that have been with Xero for many years…

“I’ve been around Xero for many years and I still got a lot out of even the Intro to Xero section for new partners today. I found myself watching the speakers and I thought to myself, this is how we should talk about Xero to our clients,” said Matthew Scott, Management Accounting Manager for Consolid8. “We need to do more Xero training with our clients and watching how professionals talk about the product really inspired me to think about the best way to communicate the benefits of Xero to a business owner.”

To the first-timers…

“It’s my first Xero Roadshow and it was so easy to listen to and understand,” said Lorraine Vogel who recently joined as the Lead Bookkeeper at Reconciled. “The information on some of the new features were really interesting. I enjoyed hearing about how Xero Tax works through Practice Manager – implementing this knowledge will really streamline process for me. What was also beneficial was learning more about some app partners who can help provide a full service to some of my clients.”

And those that love networking…

“I always really enjoy networking and seeing old colleagues. Everything is moving and changing in the industry and it’s nice to reconnect, and find out what’s new with Xero and the app partners,” said Jason Bradley, Director of Pitcher Partners.

Not to mention the app partners themselves who got great value out of the day…

“Attending the Brisbane Xero Roadshow has once again proven to be successful. Engaging with forward-thinking accountants and bookkeepers who are keen to add beneficial solutions to the portfolio for their clients has been amazing,” said Kristen Harris, GM of Deputy.

“Over the last six years I’ve seen tremendous change within the accounting industry compared to where we’ve been for the last 20 years,” said Jason Forbes, Director of Sales AU, Spotlight Reporting. “The impact Xero has had on accountants and their clients has been phenomenal, with flow-on effects with reverberating throughout the economy.

“It’s reassuring to see the continued high-calibre and progressiveness of Brisbane accountants and bookkeepers as they’ve transitioned to the cloud. This is opening up greater advisory opportunities where Spotlight Reporting can lend a hand.”

The passion to continue to help SMEs thrive was evident throughout the whole event by all attendees. Check out some more of our favourite pictures from Brisbane today.
