Every year we look forward to our annual awards night at Xerocon, where we get the opportunity to showcase and celebrate the achievements of our Accounting and App Partners.
With an outstanding array of Partners in the Xero community, it’s difficult to recognize just one Partner in each award category. We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved in the Xero community, we couldn’t do it without each and every one of you. And to the winners, congratulations!
Here are the recipients of the Xerocon Awards in San Francisco.
The 100% Xero Award
Xero recognizes the work that goes into going all-in on the cloud; the 100% Xero Award goes to an accounting practice that is 100 percent run on Xero all while using the ecosystem to deliver value to their customers. This year’s winner was LiveCA LLP.
The firm is blazing a trail in Canada, becoming the country’s first Xero Platinum Partner. With 100 percent of their clients on Xero, 100 percent of LiveCA LLP’s employees work virtually – serving clients all across Canada.
Industry-Specific App Partner of the Year Award
This award recognizes App Partners who have fulfilled the needs of a specific industry, while maintaining exemplary customer satisfaction and achieving commercial success. This year’s winner was Shopify.
Shopify provides a hassle-free platform for users to build their retail business all while showing a proven dedication to making commerce better for everyone. Shopify’s seamless integration with Xero gives users an end-to-end solution, with a beautiful overview of their business’ cashflow.
Emerging App Partner of the Year Award
The winner had to show demonstrated commercial success and customer satisfaction through means including excellent customer care, design quality, functionality and technical innovation. The award went to Avalara.
With literally thousands of different tax jurisdictions across the U.S. alone, the integration of Xero and Avalara simplifies sales tax for small businesses. Avalara’s seamless interchange with Xero gives small business owners the tools they need without the confusing clutter.
App Partner of the Year award
This award winner needed to provide a best-in-class customer experience for their users through stellar customer care, beautiful design, top build quality, thorough functionality and real technical innovation.
Award winner Hubdoc provides users with a secure hub for all their sensitive documents, including online bills and bank statements. Hubdoc pulls the documents and the key data is entered seamlessly into Xero. Transactions are automatically matched with the bank feed in Xero.
Emerging Partner of the Year award
Xero awards an Accounting or Bookkeeping Partner in this category with the most potential to service their clients with increasing value-added services. The winner in this category shows a commitment to growing with Xero and servicing their clients in the best way possible.
This year’s award went to Xero Gold Partner, BNA CPAs and Advisors. With a team of over 20 professionals, the firm is lead by a father-son duo. The practice uses Xero to provide their clients with proactive advisory services and shows evidence of innovation in client services.
Bookkeeping Partner of the Year award
This category recognizes a Bookkeeping Partner who uses Xero to offer the best value-added services to their clients. Selecting from a competitive group of entrants, Xero took into account the nominees’ use of innovative client services to the delivery of better client results.
Beyond Balanced Books took home this year’s award. Owner Cindy went from running around visiting as many clients as she could in a day to becoming the modern bookkeeper, marrying technology with accounting.
Xero MVP award
This award goes to an Accounting Partner who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession during 2015, impacting the working lives of their peers. This year’s honors for Most Valued Professional went to Jay Kimelman of the digital CPA. “the digital CPA” says it all, we are recognizing Jay for his championship of the cloud accounting revolution. Jay is an outstanding advocate for cloud accounting practices everywhere.
Accounting Partner of the Year award
This award is given in recognition of an Accounting Partner who has used Xero to deliver the best value-added services to clients.
Entrepreneurship is in the DNA of Kahuna’s firm. Serving as a virtual accounting firm, Kahuna believes in serving entrepreneurs so they can achieve a greater level of success. We are delighted to name Kahuna our Accounting Partner of the Year.
Xero Evangelist award
The winner had to demonstrate expertise in Xero and the accounting and small business industries, while exemplifying Xero’s core values as a presenter and showing a willingness to go above and beyond.
The award went to Amanda Aguillard of Aguillard Accounting. In the short time Amanda has been a Xero speaker and writer, she has been setting records from day dot. In addition to running her own practice, she has been helping onboard practitioners to Xero through webinars and in-person sessions.
