Xero has today been named a top tech pioneer for 2016, recognized as a company that is leading the ideas boom.

Ranked on degree of industry disruption, product, level of innovation and customer experience, the Tech Pioneers 50 are companies using technology to drive disruption.

“These companies have a commitment to excellence, superior customer experience and a demonstrated ability to do one thing in a market better than anyone else,” the report says.

Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, said with the national economy transitioning out of a mining-led investment boom, the future is reliant on innovation in technology and trade.

“Innovation is fuelling the diversification of Australia’s economy, and the pace and scale of digital disruption is providing more opportunities for Australian businesses to leverage technology in new and exciting ways,” Turnbull said.

Technology is opening up new markets and opportunities for local businesses, he said, adding that the tech companies listed as pioneers are “among those leading the charge”.
