Today we are proud to announce our smallest release ever. With Xero for Apple Watch, time really is money! Small business owners can now view information about the finances of their business with a flick of the wrist:
We took the bank feeds notification we released earlier this year and augmented it with a long-look form, exclusively for the Watch, which shows you the details of the transactions that came through. This means you’ll discover as soon as possible when invoices have been paid.
At any time throughout your day you can also open up Xero on your watch and review your bank account balances. Got more than one business? No problem – the watch will show balances across up to five organisations linked to your Xero account. When you tap into an account, you can review the transactions from the last feed update.
Creating an app for a new form factor is always a bit of a journey. The path to get to something we were happy with has been quite interesting, starting with our coverage of the announcement of the Watch at Apple’s Special Event back in 2014. We pre-ordered watches and waited, although we couldn’t resist teasing a few early concepts at Xerocon Auckland:

Apple threw us a few curveballs. Working with the beta of watchOS2 sent us back to the drawing board for a while, but it’s been worth the wait. The new app is faster and more responsive than the first version, and a great base for new features as we dream them up. Designer Brock has written a great piece on Medium about our thinking throughout the design process.
We welcome your feedback on what we’ve done with the app, good or bad. If you’ve got a minute or two, please consider rating our app in iTunes to let us know what you think! We read all your reviews and, along with feature requests in Xero Community, they help us decide what we should be focusing on next.
Xero has been amazing for my company in landscape gardening and aged care how do I buy a xero watch and are there any discounts given I am with xero
Hi Trent! Very glad to hear you’ve been getting a lot out of Xero. You can order an Apple Watch online at apple.com, or pick one up in-store. Unfortunately they don’t offer any discounts on our behalf! The Xero app is available for free in iTunes, though.
Wait Luke, so the Windows Phone users that have been asking for an app get support pulled, but you have the time/funds to make an app for this overpriced/ineffective time piece? Troubling attitude at Xero.
