Reason #3: At Xerocon Melbourne you’ll hear the latest from industry experts

Xerocon Melbourne is the largest accounting technology conference in Australasia. It’s the perfect occasion for accountants and bookkeepers to be inspired, network, and get the lowdown on the latest in tech and small business.

Next month’s Xerocon Australia offers our accounting and bookkeeping partners the opportunity to hear from some of our favourite speakers. In 2015, we’re bringing you a range of experts in the tech, accounting and small business industries.

So who can you expect to hear from at Xerocon Melbourne this August?

Andrew Conway, CEO, Institute of Public Accountants

Andrew is the youngest CEO of a public entity (Institute of Public Accountants) in Australia. He helped transform the IPA into a leading and recognised professional accounting body in Australia. At this year’s Xerocon, he will outline key highlights from the IPA’s Small Business White Paper (that was recently presented to the Federal Government). The paper outlines critical policy recommendations that will help stimulate the small business economy.

Mel Power, Head of Bookkeeping, Xero Australia

Mel will lead a panel exploring just what it means to be a modern bookkeeper. Discussion will include how our bookkeeping partners can add value to traditional compliance work. For bookkeepers looking to evolve their ways of working, we’ll share the first steps you need to take. There will be plenty of stories from bookkeepers on the journey to inspire you!

James Solomons, Head of Accounting, Xero Australia

James will showcase our newly-created business accelerator program designed for accountants (similar to the ‘Grow Your Practice’ webinar series we created for bookkeepers). We’ll give you a taste of the workshops. If you are ready to start your journey you can register your interest to join the new program.

Charlie Wood, MD at Dropbox, ANZ

It’s no secret that the small business market is undergoing digital disruption. It’s vital that accountants, bookkeepers and financial advisors understand the current and future cloud computing landscape so they can best serve their clients. Charlie will discuss the impact of cloud and why now more than ever you need to stay in touch with the latest business models.
