Our October Roadshow has ended in a big way with a great turnout in Brisbane on 30 October. I’d like to give a big shout out to all the partners, advisors, presenters and add-ons who attended (and, of course, to the Xero events team for pulling off another successful series of events).
When we brought the team together to brainstorm these events, we really wanted to create something different – not just take to the stage with more news about Xero, but add genuine value and ideas to the relationship between bookkeepers, accountants, their clients and prospects. And so we created an event designed to help partners connect with new vertical markets in exciting industries like retail, hospitality, trades and construction.
The cornerstone of these events was about showing people how Xero Add-ons can – with the assistance of cloud integrators – help traditional accountants and bookkeepers move towards being a more connected advisor: someone with the smarts to help their clients by providing real time advice about their business.
We kicked off each event in Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Launceston, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, with an overview of the Add-on and Cloud Integrator space, and then went through what the journey from being a traditional practice to a connected advisor looks like.
This opening session also explored what Add-ons and Cloud Integrators can do and the ways they can help expand opportunities for your business. Real-life case studies always go down well and we showed a great clip of Nick Hazel at Cafe Bookkeepers. Check out the video and you’ll see some great insights on going niche and focusing on a specific industry is a great way to go.
Automation was also a key theme, and this slide certainly received lots of attention. And for good reason: by automating time-consuming tasks, advisors can focus on the bigger picture of helping their clients grow their businesses.
With the first session wrapped, we then moved onto the first of three sessions presented by our cloud integrator channel.
First up was Jeffrey Atizado from SMB Consultants. Jeff gave a absorbing overview of the retail and hospitality industry and then brought his learnings to life with a demonstration. Cloud technology is having a massive impact on this industry and the way people can now work, and Jeff encapsulated this really well.
In my opinion, Jeff’s demonstration of Xero and industry specific add-ons was the best integrated solution I’ve seen. And based on feedback we gleaned from partners, I wasn’t the only one blown away by Jeff’s presentation.
Next up was Clinton from TradiePad who, despite recovering from a broken leg, presented a great overview of the positive impact cloud is having on the trades and construction industry. He demonstrated some of our great Add-ons in this space and also highlighted several special solutions he highly recommends, dubbing them ‘Apps that fill the Gaps’.
Last but by no means least came Tony Chadwick from Rype. A self-confessed ‘Grandfather of the Digital Age’, Tony presented an industry overview and demonstration of the professional services industry. A passionate and engaging speaker, Tony highlighted the impact cloud disruption is having on this industry and the opportunity that now exists to do things differently through collaboration. A key take out from Tony’s presentation: collaboration is the biggest strength of cloud and the foundation of connecting better with clients.
We certainly hope our October Roadshows opened your eyes to the opportunities that exist for bookkeepers, accountants and advisors to collaborate and connect with the Add-on ecosystem and new clients in vertical markets.
If you missed a session or couldn’t make it to the roadshow, we filmed all four sessions from our Melbourne event. Grab a cuppa and click the links below.
