Google and Xero have a lot in common. Both were born in the cloud and have a strong mission to help small businesses grow and thrive with easy to use, well-designed tools.
That’s why we’re immensely excited to be working with Google to help improve the financial management capabilities of our small businesses users globally. In particular we are able to offer small businesses our easy-to-use online accounting platform alongside Google Drive (acting as a content repository that will grow with their collaboration needs).
Both Google Apps and Xero operate in the cloud so there is perfect synchronisation. This tight integration enables small businesses to easily export their financial reports from Xero directly into their Google Drive account where they can be stored in real time for easy access, with more than enough storage space for all their work.
This integration also enables small businesses to more easily collaborate with their accounting and business partners. Instead of sending reports via email and trying to tediously collect and manage individual edits and comments it’s easy to invite their accounting professional and colleagues to collaborate on reviewing budgeting, cash flow and management reports in real time.
Business owners can also work more effectively. They no longer need to waste time logging in individually to Xero and each of their favorite Google Apps. Now it’s possible to sign in once to Xero and be automatically logged into Google Apps. It’s then easy to work efficiently by switching in between Xero and your favorite Google Apps.

Great to see a video Sid and the Xero family at work across the world, man we’re lucky
Great Sid. Now we just need to be able to integrate file storage into Google Docs.
This is great! Good work Xero
Integration with Google contacts would also be wonderful.
@Kim you can pull Xero contact information into your GMail using one of our newest add-ons Collabspot – http://www.collabspot.com/integrations/gmail/xero/
I’m trying to figure this out, does this mean that I’ll be able to finally access my Google Drive files in Xero to attach them to things like invoices? It sounds like that from the description, but I’m assuming no as I’m seeing nothing direct about this. Any word?
