Australian payroll reaches one billion dollars per month

In June 2014, we reached the huge milestone of processing over one billion Australian dollars per month of Australian payroll with employers paying over 200,000 employees. This was the first time we’ve gone over that amount in one month and it continues to grow!

Australian Payroll Billion

Over 350,000 employees, approximately 3% of the working population of Australia, were managed by Australian Payroll in Xero in the last financial year. We’ve seen amazing growth in both the number of businesses and amount of Australian payroll processed using Xero.

Updates to Australian Payroll

As we look ahead to the new financial year we’re excited by the updates you’ll see in the next couple of months and beyond. Our priority for Australian payroll is improving your pay run experience and removing the draft bill to update the general ledger.

What you’ll see is true seamless accounting and payroll. Payroll information will automatically update the general ledger. We’re also working away to improve your overall payroll experience with updates including employee search, changes to the leave scheduling process and much, much more.

Love all the recent features that have been added to Xero Australian payroll such as online lodging of Payment Summaries directly to the ATO.

Getting rid of the dreaded “Draft” invoice will make everyone’s life easier.

Payroll and auto superannuation Australia is not all it is made out to be. Worse still when it is an emergency you can not speak with anybody. You send a query through and the automated response says 3 hours – still waiting. I think the bigger Xero is getting, customer focus is dropping
