The Australian Tax Roadmap – Company Tax Return

dev photo1The Australian Tax solution within the all new Practice Manager is about to hit a new milestone with our first installment of Company Tax Return.

Since launching online activity statements and tax file declarations in Practice Manager, we’ve seen over 100,000 lodgements on our Australian Tax Service platform. The team is now about to launch into a series of releases to deliver the next components of our solution.

As the new Product Manager for Australia, I’ve picked an amazing time to join Xero.

So, what does this mean for you?

It means that we’re one step closer to the tax solution you’ve been asking for. A big step.

What will you get with the first installment of Company Tax Return?

You’ll be able to create and lodge Company Tax returns for 2013 and 2014 tax years through the new Practice manager.

When will you get the first installment of Company Tax Return?

We’re working hard to get this out the door as soon as possible and are targeting a June release.

How can you get it?

You’ll need the new Practice Manager, which comes with Practice Studio. It’s available for a monthly fee, or free to partners who hold a status of silver or greater. If you already have Practice Manager, you’ll be  upgraded to the new version automatically, which will include Company Tax Return 2013 & 2014 and the main supporting worksheets and schedules.

What’s next?

We are currently working on additional features for Company Tax Returns, and the first release of Individual Returns. We will keep you up to date regularly as our release schedule is determined.

Our plan to deliver tax is through regular releases of forms and features over a period of time. These releases, in no particular order, include entering Notice of Assessments, Pre-fill for individual, eSign, Trust, Partnership and more.

Why release incrementally?

A full tax solution is no small feat. To build a solution you’ll love, your feedback is important. Releasing this way allows us to shape the product in line with your feedback and mitigate risk accordingly. We want to get this right.

When can you get rid of your existing Tax solution?

That’s entirely up to you. Our strategy is to have a comprehensive Tax Solution ready as soon as possible. Releasing incrementally gives you the flexibility to try each component as we go and make the decision to  change at the time that’s right for you and when our feature set meets your needs.
Our mission is to transform how our customers do business by providing a connected platform, and we’re excited to celebrate this significant milestone in our Australian Tax journey.

Sounds good, lodging BAS’s through Practice Manager is so easy, so fingers crossed company tax returns will be the same. Tax return lodgements is that final piece in the practice puzzle.
