Farming in the cloud presented at Xerocon

At Xerocon, Auckland we were excited to unveil Farming in the Cloud, which will be ready later this year in New Zealand. This connection with our farming partners will deliver real-time, single ledger reporting to farms for the first time – and it’ll be great for our accounting partners with farming clients.

The solution allows farmers and their accountants, banks and rural service companies to work together from the same set of online, real-time data, and will provide one centralised home for accounting and farm management tools.

Key to the solution is our newly certified farming software partner Figured, which delivers a solution both to the accountant for in-house financial management of rural clients, right through to a full end-user product for the farmer.

We are also excited that existing online farm management software providers Aghub and iAgri are also joining our growing eco-system of farm software partners scheduled to be live by the end of June.

So how are we rolling it out?

  • Xero modern practice accounting partners have joined an early adopter group and are beginning to implement the Figured on farm solution for both its  inhouse jobs and end-user farmers between now and June.

  • Coming very soon we will have video introduction on Xero TV showing how Figured and Xero work together for farmers, advisors and their bankers.

  • In May, farming will be a big theme for our Xero national roadshow, so make sure you come along to hear what its all about and meet our farming software partners.

  • Later this year we are showcasing at Mystery Creek Fieldays along with our Farming in the Cloud partners which include Figured, Aghub and iAgri.

We have been working hard on Rural Feeds with CRT, and Rabobank is set up with direct feeds into Xero already. We’re also delighted to announce that leading agricultural provider PGG Wrightson has come on board to deliver the rural feed. We are working hard on closing the remaining suppliers out. On top of the direct feeds, add-on provider Receipt Bank is already offering a solution to get all the key supplier statements seamlessly into Xero.

Rolling out rural broadband access

We are working closely with Vodafone, which is rolling out the rural broadband initiative. It is three years into a five year roll-out with 180,000 address points already available. It has tools for our partners to do bulk checks on what farmers have access to and where they don’t and the Xero farming model allows the accountant to run the system inhouse.

If you didn’t get a chance to see what it’s all about, check out our media release and the keynote from Xerocon:

Also, have a listen to the interview on Jamie Mackay’s Farming Show and see the interview with the teams at Figured and Xero gold partner Sudbury’s, which attended Northland Fieldays following Xerocon.

With a true cloud platform for rural our goal is to drive more industry collaboration linking up key farming software tools that farmers already use in the single ledger. Together we can deliver more to farmers and help them increase profitability. Let’s lift the rural sector together!

Very soon we will be launching a specific Xero Farming website. For more information now, or to register your interest to be an early adopter contact

Will figured be available in the US? If not immediately are there any future plans for roll-out in the US? Also, will the product work for row crops?

Kind Regards,

Any idea if this will also be configured and made available for the UK market ? Huge farming community where we are based and would be great to able bring Xero to this market.

@Andrew – Thanks for the message. We are initially rolling out in NZ as a pilot, but have plans to roll this out globally. We have already had some initial contact with US based software companies focussing on cropping who are looking into building integration with Xero. Please email me your details to and I will make sure we update you on US plans.

@chris plan to pilot in NZ. The initial scoping of Australia and UK is that they are not to different in their requirements for livestock, given we have local versions for Xero its just a case of working with our farming software partners to localise their products, or approach locally based existing software. Email me on, as would be keen to scope the requirements for UK.

Hi Ben can you tell us who you are talking to in the US? I am looking to implement some farming software for orange and Lemon crops and a winery right now so I would love to pick software that could link in with Xero in the near future.

We have a number of farming clients who are keen to move to Xero and looking for an Add-on that can monitor their livestock inventory. Any news on Figured in the Cloud for Australia?
