Squarespace and XeroSquarespace is an all-in-one website publishing platform featuring a completely integrated commerce solution that makes selling online easy.

The platform provides everything you need to begin selling physical goods, digital goods – or even services right from your custom website. Squarespace’s flexible platform and their commerce integration with Xero are specifically designed to grow with your business needs.

Who is it for?

Squarespace’s commerce offering is for anyone who wants to start selling online. Checkout their awesome website builder here:

How Squarespace works with Xero

The integration allows you to easily connect your Squarespace account with Xero and  automatically sync every component of every incoming order. Setup is quick and easy, and makes use of some of Xero’s latest API enhancements – including syncing of tax rates and configuration of your chart of accounts. Your sales will be automatically mapped to the appropriate place within your Xero account, making it easy to keep track of your revenue, expenses, and tax liabilities with Xero.

Where you can use Squarespace

Squarespace’s website builder works globally, however their commerce tools work only in markets where Stripe’s payment gateway operates. For the time being, the Xero integration is only live in the US. It will roll out soon in the UK, and then Australia once Stripe leaves Beta.

Xero integration included with Squarespace’s business package. See current pricing.

A special Squarespace’s offer for Xero customers

You can save 10% off your first Squarespace purchase by using offer code XERO upon checkout.

I was serious considering signing up (on the hunt for an ecommerce solution just now, and xero integration is definitely an attraction)… then noticed that the xero integration’s only in the top pricing tier! I think this blog article is a bit misleading on that aspect to be honest.

Thanks for the feedback Joseph. I’ve updated the post to highlight which Squarespace package includes Xero integration and link over to their pricing page.

I agree because the article talks about growing with the business which sort of implies it should be at all levels. I don’t understand the logic why they do not include it.

I noticed no mention of mobile. Since mobile is the growth segment will there be an emphasis on mobile soon. Mobile is a great way to drive sales even for services.

What I would like to know is how the integration actually deals with xero. For example, does the integration identify existing xero contacts/clients? is there a log in for existing clients (that will auto fill name address and possibly a reg order) or is each order treated as a “new” client.

@AD the integration works by creating a daily sales summary in Xero. This covers all the sales that have taken place in a day, and reconciles quite neatly with the funds remitted from Stripe. It does not create customer records in Xero, they stay in Squarespace only, which avoids any issues with contact record mix-ups.

I would love to know if squarespace and Xero are integrating within Australia yet? I’ve been waiting a number of years now and it would be such a shame to change now.
