Following on this week’s news on our updated Xero Touch iOS App, we’re very pleased to announce Xero Touch was last night named winner in the Line of Business and Best Web App categories at the 2013 Australian Mobile Awards in Sydney, which “celebrates creativity, courage and innovation in mobile achievements.”
The app enables small businesses to use key Xero features when they’re away from their desks. It also offers a range of features that are only possible with a mobile device, such as the ability to instantly capture and attach photos of receipts for expense claims.
So much work in all businesses happens away from the computer and office, so it makes sense to enable people to manage their data wherever they are. With the Xero Touch app, our customers manage their information on the move. Wherever people are, they can stay productive and in control of their business by creating invoices, reconciling their bank accounts and much more.
Part of a global program, the Australian Mobile Award judges were entrepreneurs from the technology and marketing industries. This is the second year in a row that Xero Touch is a winner at the Australian Mobile Awards, having also won last year in the same category.
All-new Xero Touch iOS App
Since its launch, more than 125,000 copies of the app have been downloaded from the App Store. On Wednesday we announced a completely new version of the App is now available for download from the App Store.
Back in May we announced a change in direction for Xero and the new release of Xero Touch is built with native iOS technology. It has been re-designed for iOS7 and you’ll see a cleaner and more responsive user experience. A native version of Xero Touch for Android is in the works too and will be available as soon as possible.
It’s a total rebuild of the application from the ground up, using the iOS SDK and taking full advantage of Apple hardware to boost performance and responsiveness.
