Workpapers help BAS/GST period

Accountants and bookkeepers, we’ve just launched new features for Workpapers (Release 2.1):

Periodic/Interim Workpaper Packs

It’s now easier to create workpaper packs for discrete periods rather than for a full financial year. Perfect for BAS/GST periods, interim financial statements and as a support for management accounts (if required).

This functionality will be of particular interest to bookkeepers and those accounting firms that do a significant amount of as-you-go workpaper collation during the year. Periodic functionality is the starting point for further enhancements and capability for those wanting to use workpapers on a regular basis.

We’ll continue to canvas user groups in New Zealand and Australia for feedback on the periodic and roll-forward functionality.

Shareholder Overdrawn Current Account (NZ) workpaper including calculation

This workpaper has been added to the core stack and includes the interest calculation as well, a popular request from New Zealand accountants.

Document Preview Improvements

The “hover” Document Preview functionality that is already a popular part of the Workpapers experience has been further enhanced. The “preview” has been increased in size – to eliminate the need in many instances to open the document at all – and can also be dragged and repositioned so as not to obscure the workpaper beneath.

Other enhancements include:

  • Ability to change workpaper mappings at Practice Settings level so that the Fixed Assets workpaper can be showing at NBV if desired
  • Rename and relabel Workpapers at the practice level
  • Loans/HP workpaper improvements
  • Client queries – client can now upload a .ofx and .qif files if necessary
  • Standard user cannot change materiality on workpapers

Our Help Centre has further guidance for existing Accounting Partners that use this Workpapers. Not an Accounting Partner? Find out more on how you can take the work out of Workpapers and streamline your processing compliance by heading over to the Workpapers homepage.
