Winning awards and connecting with

We have packed up our things (Xero T-shirts, partner packs, and passion for small businesses and accounting professionals) and are now in Anaheim, California. No, we aren’t at Disneyland, but here for The Sleeter Group’s 2012 Accounting Solutions Conference.

This is a very exciting day on two fronts: Firstly, we are pre-announcing our upcoming integration capability with and secondly, like, we have been named as a winner of the 2013 Awesome Application Awards by The Sleeter Group. Let’s jump into the integration first.

Xero +

Since joining Xero last April, I’ve had the pleasure of traveling to meet with accounting professionals across the USA. People are amazed at how such beautiful accounting software can also be so powerful – from the single ledger to practice management, and from management reports to the collection of over 115+ add-ons.

When walking people through the various add-ons, I’ve heard repeatedly from accounting professionals that we should integrate with someone to provide integrated bill payment – specifically in the US, Well, the wait is almost over and today we’re pre-announcing the ability to integrate with, with an expected delivery date in late 2012.

When using Xero and together via the upcoming integration, you will be able to:

  • Go paperless. Clients receive bills online and never have to print, sign, and mail checks.
  • Get unlimited storage for all bills and documents.
  • Automate the approval process.
  • Pay bills electronically with no duplicate data entry.
  • Manage your clients’ invoicing process to help them get paid faster.
  • Access cleared check images and remittance information.
  • View accrued, actual and projected cash flows in real-time.

If you are operating in the US and an existing Xero partner, we’ll send an email update with more details closer to the launch date. If you aren’t a Xero partner today, sign-up to be a partner and we’ll keep you in the loop.

Another award in the trophy case

This year we’ve picked up two awards at CeBIT Australia 2012 – CeBIT.AU Business Award for Top Business Solution and the CeBIT.AU ICT Excellence Award – and two awards from K2 Enterprises 2012 Quality Awards – for Small Business Accounting Solution and Best New Mobile App. Now Xero’s beautiful accounting software is one of the winners of the 2013 Awesome Application Award from The Sleeter Group. The award recognizes integration, ease-of-use and design. A special thank you to all of you who voted for us!

René Lacerte, CEO & Founder of and Jamie Sutherland, Xero President US Operations

So, it is an exciting day – an upcoming integration capability with and winning an 2013 Awesome Application Award. I can only wonder what tomorrow will bring.

XPAC takes off in South Africa

Last week, I attended another great function at Truth Coffee hosted by Yoco in collaboration with Digicape and Xero. A comment was made that stuck in my head most of the weekend – “Don’t waste your time with software that does not integrate.” I can not imagine what it must be like to work on ...

Why you need to be a change leader, rather than a change manager

Accounting professionals have moved on from the question “why cloud?” to asking how they can use the cloud to move forward in the current accounting landscape. CEO and Executive Director of the Maryland Association of CPAs, Tom Hood, recently told AccountingWEB how accountants should not just “manage” change but “lead” it, while still keeping sight ...
