As we get deeper into the era of cloud enabled software it’s interesting to see new categories of service emerge which build on the ubiquity of internet connectivity and mobile.

One such area is mobile expenses management and last month I stopped by the London offices of ExpenseMagic, a popular smartphone & cloud expenses app developer that’s just finalised their integration with Xero as an Add-on Partner. ExpenseMagic’s Xero integration is available today in the UK and the US, with Australia and New Zealand their next targets.

While basic mobile expenses capture is pretty common – (we even have our own capability in Xero Touch) – ExpenseMagic takes it a stage further by processing the captured receipt images and uploading them automatically as completed expense lines, negating the need for customers to do any of the manual data entry.

To celebrate the availability of their Xero integration, ExpenseMagic is offering a month’s free receipt processing for Xero users, the ExpenseMagic app is available here.

Great stuff, more companies showing in this area will only force each other to keep on improving!

Love the Xero integrations that are coming about recently.

This looks terrific. It is much cheaper than ($8/month paid quarterly).

I just started using XERO & expensemagic, and the main reason I did was the integration between both programmes. I have to say the processing of the expense receipts is excellent. However the connection and interface with XERO is far from seamless, in fact for me it is just not working. I have tried all the advice to resolve it given by Mike at expensemagic, I feel sure its will be something simple that is stopping it working, and maybe even something I am not doing correctly, but at this point neither XERO or Expensemagic are able to help. HELP!
