Xero Gold

No – I’m not talking about Hamish Carter’s gold medal, I’m talking about Microsoft Gold Certification.

Last week Xero achieved Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status. We also learned that Xero is Microsoft’s first Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner to be certified as a hosted solution provider in New Zealand. And we also received Gold Partner status in Mobility.

This is a huge milestone for us. Microsoft Gold Partner status was a goal for Xero from day one. Not only are the benefits huge in terms of licensing, but also the doors that it opens and the credibility that is gained with Microsoft, the market and with the wider technology community.

Software as a Service is all about trust. It was key for us to seek external validation of our architecture and approach.

The process to reach the Gold Partner level is not easy – and nor should it be. However it’s extremely rewarding. Our product had to go through a series of independent tests preparing for it, and then achieving a pass on every test was great verification of our product and our technical system architecture.

We’ve had excellent support from the local Microsoft team – their encouragement and assistance was very much appreciated.
