Competition: Terms and Conditions

  1. This competition (Competition) is conducted by Xero Australia Pty Limited ABN 89 124 215 247 (Xero), and is open from 2 December 2019 until 11:59pm (AEDT) on 16 December 2019 (the Competition Period). Xero may, at its sole discretion, extend the Competition Period. By entering the Competition, an entrant (Entrant or You) agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

  2. To be eligible to enter the Competition (Eligible Entrant), an entrant must:

       (a) be an Australian resident prior to, and for the duration of, the Competition Period;

       (b) be an existing Xero Subscriber on an Australian-based starter, standard, payroll only or premium plan using payroll prior to entering into the Competition;

      (c) not have previously registered for or opted into Single Touch Payroll through Xero prior to the beginning of the Promotion Period;

       (e) have received Xero’s promotional email, pdf or a communication directly from Xero for this competition; and

       (f) comply with these Terms and Conditions.

  3. To register to participate in the Competition, an Eligible Entrant must complete the following steps, following which the Eligible Entrant will be deemed to have registered as a participiant in this Competition (Participant) and have accepted these Terms and Conditions in their entirety:

     (a) register for and opt into Single Touch Payroll by logging in to Xero, register for and opt in to Single Touch Payroll, confirm your organisation details and connect to the ATO before 16 Dec 2019 and

     (b) tell us in 25 words or less how using Xero Payroll saves you time (Competition Response).

  4. Entries are limited to one (1) entry per subscriber. There will be one (1) winner chosen by Xero from the Participants who have met the entry criteria (Winner). For the purpose of determining the winner, the Xero judges will evaluate the Competition Response according to its creativity having regard to Xero’s values of #human, #ownership, #beautiful, #champion and #challenge, so the Winner will be the Participant who tells us in the most creative way how, having regard to Xero’s values, using Xero Payroll saves that Participant time. 

  5. The Winner will receive $2,000 pre-paid gift voucher (the Prize). The Prize is not redeemable for cash and is not transferrable. All incidental costs associated with the Winner’ receiving or making use of the Prize or any associated tax consequences is the responsibility of the Winner. Xero gives no warranties, representations or advice in respect of any of the above.

  6. The Winner will be notified by Xero within 30 days after the end of the Promotion Period and will be advised as to how their Prize will be made available to them. If the Winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within 30 days from the date on which Xero first notifies them, Xero reserves the right to withdraw the Prize (in which case the Winner will be deemed to have forfeited the Prize) and to award it to the Participant with the next best Competition Response having regard to the criteria set out above. That awarded Participant will then be the Winner for the purposes of these Terms and Conditions.

  7. Xero’s decisions on all matters relating to the Competition (including eligibility of entrants, registration of Participants, and determination of the winner) will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  8. Xero employees are not eligible to enter the Competition.

  9. By registering as a Participant in the Competition, you consent to the use of your name, image and brand for Xero’s promotional use.

  10. To the extent permitted by law, Xero and its affiliated companies shall not be liable in any way (including, without limitation, in negligence), for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including, without limitation, direct, indirect or consequential loss) or for any loss or damage or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the promotion.

  11. All use of Xero’s services is subject to Xero’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

  12. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
