The Wellington-based accounting firm says Xero has transformed the way their practice and clients work together and they would never go back to the old days.

Stephen Nicholas, Openside's CEO, says that as Xero has grown, more of their clients are being switched over to either Xero or Xero Partner Edition. He says the Openside team have fully embraced Xero as the 'Future of Accounting' and that it's empowering them in their daily working lives and is resulting in stronger relationships with clients. They are seeing a big difference in their clients' approach to accounting.

"It's great having tools like this to offer our clients - we always ask ourselves what's best for the client so it's just neat when there are two really great products available to suit a range of clients' needs. And when they contribute to a business' operations and profitability, you know it's a win-win product."

Xero's strategy has purposefully included working with accountants to provide a dynamic, innovative accounting software solution. But software is only one aspect of the relationship. Essentially, Xero enables accountants and their clients to easily and cost effectively work together, offering meaningful and accurate advice in a timely fashion.

Stephen cites tangible evidence that Xero saves him time:

"The ability to pull together a Management Report is significantly improved. This means we can shift our efforts from sourcing and sorting information to analysing and providing advice to the business owners. This is a far better and more valuable use of our time."

Stephen says his team can now work in a way they’ve always wanted to.
