Who's Using Xero?

The great time saver

Professional bookkeeper Heather Darroch says Xero has the potential to be one of a small business owner's biggest time savers, as well as giving them a complete picture of their cash position on a daily basis.

Offsite Office

Heather's business Offsite Office provides a customised bookkeeping service, mainly through using financial packages and financial administrative processes. Offsite Office is involved in a number of small businesses and provides services on the business' premises or offsite where required. Most are owner-operators employing 1–6 people.

Until now, much of the work has involved travel and data entry, as she visits her clients' offices on average once a month, logs on to their systems and spends a few hours "doing the books."

"Over the years I've got to know six accounting systems pretty well. Xero tops them all."

Xero is changing all that.

"The automated data entry in Xero has made basic accounting much faster. Auto-matching bank transactions means reconciling bank statements takes minutes where sometimes it used to take hours."

"Expense claims are simple to enter – it takes about 30 seconds to enter one. So if you're on the road and you get into the habit of logging on to enter expenses as you incur them, the hassle completely disappears."

All this and it's simple to use. Heather says Xero is the best she's seen.

"Over the years I've got to know six accounting systems pretty well. Xero tops them all. The others are clunky. Xero is smooth. If you've used the internet, you'll have no problems with Xero, it's the same basic process as navigating any website."
