Who's Using Xero?

Overcoming the tyranny of distance

Xero eradicates the 'tyranny of distance' for Gran-Marbello's Trevor Bates because it means the company can operate in one region while its financial controller can live in another.

Gran-Marbello Hawkes Bay

Gran-Marbello International is New Zealand's premier manufacturer of solid surface bench tops from the world's finest granite, engineered stone, marble and Staron®.

"We saw Xero as giving us a real advantage. Our financial controller can have direct access to all our accounts without having to be here."

While the Hawkes Bay distributor is based in Napier, its financial controller lives in Tauranga – and with Xero this isn't a problem.

"We saw Xero as giving us a real advantage. Our financial controller can have direct access to all our accounts without having to be here. It's easy for him to see the data input – and to make suggestions or corrections from Tauranga," says Trevor.

Before Gran-Marbello Hawkes Bay opened for business last month, Trevor hunted around for an accounting package that would suit the company's individual needs.

"I knew that Xero was right for us for a number of reasons. Primarily because it was web-based, and secondly because we would receive automatic upgrades in the future that we didn't have to pay for."
