Back to Who's using Xero

Xero kicks others to the curb

November 2007

The three main reasons John-Daniel Trask likes using Xero are: Xero's dashboard, the feedback tool, and the up-to-date communication he receives about the feature set.

John-Daniel is a director of Mindscape, a Wellington-based software products company that also provides high value consulting. Services include: software architecture and design, performance and load analysis, technical consulting and technical training.

An experienced software developer, John-Daniel has run a number of businesses. He has also won several awards for his work within the industry including a 'Technology Guruship' award from Intergen.

Within Mindscape, John-Daniel is the main person that looks after the accounts. Another colleague, who has never used any accounting software before, is able to log on to Xero and have a look at cashflow, allowing him to make a quick and informed decision on the spot. John-Daniel attributes this to Xero's intuitive design – his colleague has never had to ask for help or be shown how to do anything.

A self-confessed geek, John-Daniel loves logging in to see the new features. The 'recent changes' alert really spells out to customers the new features – whether customers use them immediately or not, they are kept informed.

"The Feedback feature is top-notch, it has consistently been one of the best I've seen – suggestions are noted and there's always rapid feedback, always a quick response."

John-Daniel believes that Xero takes the effort out of managing accounts.

"It's the best accounting software out there."
