How to make the most of Xerocon Atlanta: Expensify’s top 3 must dos

Xerocon has been established as a not-to-be-missed conference in the accounting industry. We’ve been along for the ride for the past six years of incredible events in the US, UK, and Australia!

With unique content, top-notch networking, and unforgettable events throughout the show, it’s easy to get a bit overwhelmed by all the amazing things that Xerocon has to offer. As a Xero Preferred Partner and the 2017 Xero Partner of the Year, we like to think of ourselves as Xerocon veterans at this point. So we’ve come up with a list of “Must-Do’s” during the event to make sure you’re taking full advantage of Xerocon Atlanta.

Must Do #1: Focus on the most valuable keynotes and sessions for you

Xerocon is jam-packed with innovative content and informative keynote sessions. This makes it difficult to choose which sessions you want to attend! To combat session FOMO (fear of missing out), we recommend taking a look at the content schedule before the conference. Then make a list of the sessions and keynotes that you just can’t miss. This way, you’ll be able to prioritize your busy agenda with the sessions that will offer you the most value.

Must Do #2: Make time for Xero’s after-hours events

Dancing with a drumline in Australia? Drinking gin and tonics on top of a red bus in London? Bar crawling through Austin’s hippest downtown district? These are some of the most memorable moments from Xerocons past. But while the festive details make for a fun evening, it’s the relationships you build with the exhibitors, partners, and Xero staff that make these events so unforgettable.

We encourage attendees to go to all of the networking events. This is because some of the most meaningful conversations at Xerocon take place during this time. The Expensify team loves using the after-hours events as an opportunity to chat more with new partners we met in the expo hall, or reconnect with a familiar face that we saw briefly earlier in the day. Xerocons are fast-paced and chock full of amazing moments. So it’s beneficial to slow down and enjoy some time connecting with the incredible community that Xero has created.

Must Do #3: Visit the expo hall with a plan

In today’s financial world, accountants are expected to do more than just close the books for their clients; they’re looked to as valued advisors that provide recommendations on how clients can improve their tech stack and efficiency of their business with automated tools. In response to this, Xero has gathered quite the lineup of ecosystem partners. They will be exhibiting each day in the expo hall.

In order to make the most of the expo hall, check out the list of exhibitors beforehand. Come prepared with questions to ask vendors that are specific to your clients’ needs. This way, you’ll have a full understanding of each app’s value, and how they can fit within each of your clients’ tech stack.
