BNZ and Westpac NZ improve feeds

There’s been a lot of activity in New Zealand and Australia lately around feeds support, and we’re pleased to report a couple of new changes to New Zealand feeds prior to Christmas.

BNZ introduces support for foreign currency accounts

Today the BNZ has introduced support for foreign currency accounts in Xero, and is now the second bank in New Zealand to offer this service. If you are using our multi-currency feature on our premium plan, support for foreign currency accounts from BNZ will allow you to manage export income or payments to overseas suppliers alongside your existing bank accounts.

These feeds will be available immediately once your application is processed. BNZ supports a wide range of account types with Xero. The full list is available in our Help Centre, along with an updated application form that includes support for foreign currency accounts.

Westpac New Zealand removes paper form requirement

Until recently if you wanted feeds from Westpac New Zealand you were required to mail a paper form into Xero for processing. This extended the time it took to get your feed from Westpac up and running.

We’re pleased to let you know that Westpac now accepts scanned forms sent through to our bank feeds team. An updated application form is available in our Help Centre.

These are just a couple of small but progressive changes, and two recent examples of banks tackling small improvements to make the lives of small businesses easier.

AWESOME! early Christmas present. A real pain importing the foreign currency accounts when everything else is so automatic.

Scanned forms!? Come on Westpac you can do better than that. Let me set it up in my internet bankng, I may as well move to the ASB

Hi @Alain – my apologies, I should have made that clear in the post. Westpac Australia has always accepted scanned forms, it was just Westpac New Zealand that required the form to be posted. Now both Westpac Australia and New Zealand accept scanned copies.
