Online activity statements with Practice Manager
After a successful pre-release program we’re pleased to announce the availability of online activity statements to our partners in Australia.
As announced at Xerocon in Sydney, with Practice Manager you can now file your clients activity statements directly with the ATO online. This is an important step to make our online tax product a reality and is building on the success of our online TFN declaration release. So far we have filed over 12,000 online declarations, saving many hours of processing time and many many trees.
Online activity statements made easy
You can prepare and file activity statements for all your clients, including those that aren’t using Xero yet by following the steps below.
If your clients are on Xero, publish their Activity Statement for the required period.
Within Practice Manager start by clicking the BAS/IAS button in the clients job. This connects to the ATO and retrieves any outstanding client obligations.
Simply select the obligation from the list and the correct form type will be created including all available information from the ATO.
Either import the figures from Xero or if your client isn’t on Xero yet, simply complete the form yourself.
Depending on your process you can transition the activity statement to be approved, out to sign with the client or signed off.
Once the statement is signed off, select the statements you want to file and send them off to the ATO electronically.
When the ATO acknowledge they’ve received them, the status will be updated automatically for you to filed.
