Couldn’t agree with your more Philip, we’ve been using Yammer for a while at Streamtime – we’re spread out across 7 locations, 4 countries and multiple time zones and Yammer keeps us together. We too have live customer feedback feeds going into Yammer. Its helped keep the internal emails down to a minimum too which is fantastic.

Thanks for posting this video. Just signed up to Yammer to give it a try. We are a small office but I think that this will be a very useful tool.

As an observer of CRM evolution and it’s convergence with social networking software such as Yammer, it is obvious that tools like this, used sensibly, bring a community immediacy and efficiency to daily work that conventional CRM isn’t equiped for. Traditional desktop CRM products need to catch up with this new ‘community relationship stream’ rather than having to revert to more formal dashboard or report tools which lack the immediacy or the conversational intelligence. Security of information however would be the cautionary note being a SaaS product. At least in perception, as a SaaS product there is risk, however small, that confidential business information is being transacted. I would be interested in how Xero evaluated that risk.
